I’ve been working in business recovery and insolvency for the past 22 years. For the past 8 years, I have been a Director at mlm and my experience as an owner manager has given me considerable insight into the issues faced by individuals running their own businesses. I particularly enjoy working with directors to find solutions to the difficulties their companies may be facing. I take a partnership approach in these situations and take particular satisfaction in seeing companies return to profitability.
I believe strongly in the business recovery ethos and in the positive influence insolvency practitioners can have on distressed situations. I am an enthusiastic advocate of the Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) procedure which is an underutilised survival tool in Scotland, and which can protect companies from liquidation.
I work with a number of key partners who have complementary skills, including part time FDs and people skilled in crisis cash management; HR professionals; hands on operational restructuring and renegotiation of existing lease arrangements. Through our partners, we can bring a wide range of skills to bear to help steer a business through temporary difficulties. However, where rescue is not possible, I am qualified to act as an Insolvency Practitioner in relation to UK registered companies.
I am a keen amateur photographer and enjoy ballroom dancing. I also enjoy time in the hills, although these days, I am a fair weather walker!
