The Year of Debt or The Year of Debt Relief

A recent survey by the Step Change Debt Charity found that the average level of debt in the UK is £22,746. However, the figure in Scotland appears to be somewhat lower at £17,969. Indeed, Scotland actually has the lowest average level of debt recorded in the survey, contrasting starkly with the £23,925 owed by someone living in the South-East of England.
