I have 22 years' experience of corporate recovery and insolvency.  Although I take all kinds of insolvency appointments, my main area of expertise is in providing advice to directors whose companies are experiencing difficulties. I believe strongly in the business recovery ethos and in the role insolvency practitioners can bring to distressed situations.    I am an enthusiastic advocate of the company voluntary agreement (CVA) procedure, which I believe in Scotland, is an underutilised survival tool, protecting companies from liquidation.  I have used this procedure successfully in the leisure and restuarant sectors am proud to have assisted a well known Edinburgh restauranteur, whose business was badly affected by the credit crunch.

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998 and have 11 years' experience of both personal and corporate insolvency.  One of my key areas of specialism is Members Voluntary Liquidation (MVL), which is assisting shareholders towards a strategic exit in a tax efficient manner, working with key accounting partners.   I believe it is critical to ensure individuals within personal insolvency or Directors in corporate cases receeve a high quality tailored solution, to suit their circumstances.

I volunteer monthly at free debt clinics which MLM run at our charitable partner SAMH's drop in facility in Glasgow, to help those who may be in financial difficulties.
